WHO WE ARE:
Letter From Facility Director Dear Parents, Thank-you for considering us for the care of your children! My name is Natalia Johnson I co-own Abundance with my loving husband Nick Oceanak. We own abundance independently. We share abundance, three amazing children and a beautiful life together. I am the Director for all of Abundance’s programming. Abundance Creative Arts Childcare Center is just another amazing program that Abundance offers. We also provide after school arts enrichment to children of all ages in yoga, dance, art and music instruction, full time school aged summer day camps and we host fun Birthday and Paint parties!!! Whew! Hip Hop we don’t stop! I spend several mornings working alongside our Assistant Directors in the Childcare Center. After school hours I over see our after school classes and I also teach several dance classes. Erin Bauman the Childcare Center Director and Sherri Trent and Stacie Bingham are our Assistant Directors. Our admin team keeps the gears ticking through daily operations in the childcare center and are your go to’s for communication. They will always direct concerns and decisions needing to be made my way but please contact them before me if you ever need any help or have any concerns. Why are we taking a radical new approach to early childhood education? Studies show links between academic excellence and education in the arts. Our team of specialists teach music, dance, art, theater and yoga to not only support our high academic standards but to inspire and engage the whole child. Thank-you again for considering us for the care of your dear ones and please remember that we encourage open lines of communication. For important policy related materials please read our parent handbooks located under the parent portal tab of this website. If you ever have a question or concern please contact me or our Admin Team directly. Love and Light, Natalia |
Emergent Curriculum
Philosophies Montessori***Reggio Emelia***Waldorf Approaches to Learning Thinking skills, Communication skills, Social skills, Self-management skills Research skills Framework Objective Based Inquiry Based Research Based Theme Based Creatively Based Play Based Vision The mission of Abundance Creative Arts Child Care Center is to establish pathways to creativity for a lifetime of learning. To provide both a homelike and enriching environment that is warm, nurturing, intentional, and tailored to meet the needs of the whole child. We incorporate the creative and performing arts and non traditional educational philosophies such as Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio through the lens of a developmentally appropriate academic and cognitive approach. What we believe: Often in Early Childhood settings, the emphasis is primarily on academic tasks and simply needs based care. Young Students are often required to sit at tables and complete worksheets or tasks, babies sit in swings and wait for their next need based care item to be met. Instead, our program has been designed so that teachers are responsive to a wide variety of child needs. Every student will explore academic skills through the lens of art, music, dance, drama, and yoga. No matter the age, a child’s day from start to finish is a unique and special opportunity to learn, grow, explore and most importantly be loved. The need for academic stimulation to ensure well-rounded development is emphasized through mind and body integration. Providing a very authentic experience for learning. The whole child is educated at Abundance. Our program utilizes evidence based practices and encourages students to use inquiry learning. The teachers serve as facilitators of the learning. Young learners are encouraged to explore and inquire into new ideas using language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical, social, emotional and creative development. By incorporating a variety of different philosophies, frameworks and approaches to learning our curriculum is considered to be emergent. What that means for children is that their interests and needs will be especially considered and fostered. |
