Kids Art Class (Pacita Abad)
Wednesdays- 5:45-6:30
Pacita Abad was a bold Asian-American artist, activist, and world traveler. She embraced color, patterns, and texture while creating remarkable pieces that encouraged people to look at social issues in a whole new way.
In this class, children will get the opportunity to discover her stunning works and create 6 abstract pieces of artwork. They'll use vibrant paints and oil pastels to design shapes and patterns. They'll also gain inspiration from Pacita Abad's unique “trapunto” style, adorning their pieces with gems, sequins, reflective paper, and other mixed-media elements. The final project is a 3D rendering of an underwater seascape that will make the water come alive with fish and plants!
