After School Program

Outdoor Art
Students will explore different art materials while creating pieces that reflect natural outdoor themes. The Season is changing so what a wonderful time to explore nature through ART! Weather permitting we will meet and make art at the park for one of these dates, TBA. Sculpture Students will explore a variety of materials and work cooperatively to create sculpture works similar to artists such as Dale Chihuly and Alberto Giacometti. This will be a wonderful opportunity to really let creativity and industry flow! |
Color
Students will learn about color theory and explore several types of materials including: paints, collage/mixed media and pencils. Themes will include the SKY, SEASONS, ANIMALS and FLOWERS.
Next stop, the clay shop! Let's take our lessons in sculpture a bit further and use clay as our main medium. Students can look forward to making their own clay, sculpting, shaping, and designing wonderful works of handmade art. We will discuss clay as a medium through time and see how designs have evolved through history. abundance will also be joining a wonderful grassroots movement, Empty Bowls, to help against the fight to end hunger around the world. How can our clay bowls make a difference in our community? Join us this session and find out!

Masters of Canvas
Students will learn about several master artists including Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keefe, Jackson Pollock and Vincent Van Gogh! Paint will be the main medium this session and children can look forward to bringing home their own masterpieces! Oil & Pastel Painting Emphasis will be on drawing and seeing correctly, use of medium, painting styles, value, and techniques. New students will learn in both mediums. |
Art Storytelling
Children will enjoy a month of literature infused art! Beautiful words will circle our studio space and come to life on our canvas! Children can look forward to using a variety of materials including paint and pastels as they are inspired by beloved classics such as 'Where the Wild Things Are,' 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Peter Pan.' |
